Check the
demo of Telerik's CallbackPanel 2.0 which reveals their new patent-pending technology, which automatically AJAX-enables any ASP.NET control placed in the panel. This means that all postback functions are automatically replaced with callbacks, eliminating the need for manually invoking AJAX requests. You don't have to write a single line of JavaScript or change any other code in your application.
Furthermore the CallbackPanel preserves the page life-cycle, which is imperative for the proper operation of your application. ViewState, EventValidation and client scripts are also preserved as if a postback is performed.

On March 21 to coincide with Office Developer Conference, Microsoft has lifted all NDA restrictions with the exception of a couple of products not yet announced.
The
OpenXmlDeveloper.org web site was announced this morning by Bill Gates during his keynote presentation at the Microsoft Office Developer's Conference. The site is the home for a new community, the Open XML Developer Group. This group is dedicated to helping its members developer software that supports the Open XML Formats on a wide variety of platforms. The Open XML Formats are currently going through the
Ecma standards process.
MoreFrom
Brian Jones ...
The group is completely free and open to anyone. There will be tons of content, code snippets, even free tools for working with the files. I'm especially excited about getting a broad range of folks that work on all different platforms. The more diverse the community, the more interesting and valuable the discussions will be. As time goes on, I hope we will see tools for working on all different kinds of platforms.
From
Doug Mahugh ...
As people said on Slashdot yesterday, OpenXmlDeveloper.org is 'just informational'. That's right, guys -while others fight political battles and pander to bureaucrats and lobbyists, we're going to 'just' provide lots of specific information to help developers build world-class software around the Open XML Formats. If that's evil, then we're planning to be extremely evil.

Using SQL 2005 improves performance on every type of SharePoint farm configuration, but the most notable is a 51% increase in RPS (Requests Per Second) for a medium server farm under SQL 2005.
