New User Interface for Office 12 Core Applications


Thousands of software developers at the sold-out Microsoft Professional Developers Conference 2005 today got a preview of a new, redesigned user interface (UI) that will debut in several core applications of the next version of Microsoft Office, code-named Office 12.

      Can't help but dread the UI changes. I hope -- whatever changes they make -- MS makes it easy for me to put things back the way I want.

      Ive suggested that we have a Dinosaur button :-) ... to enable Dinos to revert back to the old UI.

    We do need a new UI - the current mechanism evolved from when we only had a fraction of the number of toolbars and button/functionality that we have today. I appreciate that some people will require time to get use to it.
